One of the most influencial games in my life. By the time (now defunct) Cryo released this piece of videogaming perfection, I had seen David Lynch's Dune movie, wich had a very important part in me actually understanding what was going on. Yet, the game follows the books much more closely then it's movie counterpart, so before I even realised it, I was hooked in much more then the game, I was hooked on Frank Herbert's Dune universe. I must highlight the amazing performance by Stephane Picq and Philip Ulrich in the many versions of the OSt for the game, of wich this Amiga version is my favorite. Simply amazing what he did with MOD files. Cryo's highly original adventure/strategy hybrid based on Frank Herbert's sci-fi epic delivers what is without a doubt one of the most unforgettable gaming experiences I know about. Assuming the role of Paul Atreides, the player travels around Arrakis making alliances, ordering troops and getting equipment while learning more about the mysterious planet and its native inhabitants. In purely technical terms, this 1992 release is quite amazing; featuring advanced pre-rendered 3D sequences, beautiful 2D graphics, a fantastic soundtrack by Stéphane Picq and extensive, high quality voice acting. This clip includes a short segment of the intro sequence and quite a few minutes from the early part of the game. The Lost Eden soundtrack (which can be purchased through Shooting-Star) gave us an unused track, but they left out three songs! After finally getting the game to work on my new machine, I decided I was tired of not having these songs and so ripped them directly from the game itself. Probably my favourite game soundtrack. especially the music on the limited edition soundtrack CD This is the MT-32 version of the games music. Recorded in dosbox 0.72 with a Roland CM-32L Synthesizer. The music playing in the flythrough sequence is called "Chani's Eyes".
